What you do in the first hour decides whether the phone survives. Water itself rarely kills a phone. Corrosion and short circuits do.
Turn it off right away and don't charge it. Current running through wet components causes the real damage.
Take off the case and remove the SIM tray. Wipe the phone dry and gently shake the water out of the ports. Don't use a hair dryer: heat pushes moisture deeper and can damage the screen.
Skip the rice. It doesn't pull water out of a phone, and its dust gets into the ports. A dry, ventilated place is better, but a professional cleaning is best.
Bring it to us within 24 hours. We open the phone, clean corrosion off the board and dry it properly. The sooner we see it, the better the odds.
